| BTC uptime since 2014: 100%! |
Do you find that you're hearing about Bitcoin more and more? And have you started wondering if continuing to ignore it may one day turn out to be an irreversible mistake? Then I recommend you take a gander at
these articles. They represent my journey from financial agnostic to financial literate over the past half decade or so. Suffice to say, it's been an eye-opening couple of years.
In 2017, like most people, I too kept hearing about Bitcoin. Typically, there would be some Bitcoin buzz in the media for a while, or amongst colleagues, followed by a period of time without any mention of it. But then invariably, to my chagrin, someone would bring cryptocurrency up again when out with friends or when visiting in-laws. Typically, a pretty polarized debate would ensue; everyone always seems to have a say about Bitcoin. But then Bitcoin would once again drop off the radar, for weeks or even months at a time. Only for the cycle to repeat all over again.
Frankly, each time it was the topic du jour, I couldn't really wait for it to fade into obscurity again. As far as I was concerned, it was out of sight, out of mind.
But even back then Bitcoin seemed unstoppable, relentless even. The digital currency just kept finding its way into my personal little sphere over and over again. In fact, if anything, it appeared the frequency of Bitcoin and crypto being the topic of discussion was on an uptrend!
Eventually there came a point I started thinking, Hey, this Bitcoin thing looks like it's not going away; maybe I owe it to myself to not kneejerk wave it off like I'd done each time before. Maybe the time has come to scratch the surface a little of this pesky thing called crypto.
And so started my exploration of Bitcoin and digital currencies.
If the above thought process resembles yours, then perhaps my
discourse spanning the intervening years can assist you in formulating your own stance on crypto versus fiat. Better yet, it would be awesome if my writings contributed to enabling you to take charge of your financial future, particularly given the tectonic shift taking place in today's financial landscape.
